Greenville Cake Smash Photography | Strawberry First Birthday Cake

Saylor thoroughly enjoyed digging into her cake as we celebrated her first birthday with Greenville cake smash photography.  I’ve found that during these first birthday portraits, babies either hesitate or dig right in.  Saylor went for it! She even got her toes in the cake, which was a first!

The cake is always lots of fun, but I like to start these sessions with more traditional first birthday photos.  We began Saylor’s session in a sweet pink bonnet and sunsuit from The Beaufort Bonnet Company.  Then we transitioned to her strawberry bubble and matching strawberry party hat!  We were sure to get portraits in both outfits before bringing out the cake.  I’m so glad we did, because as soon as it was placed in front of her she grabbed it with both hands!

If this session looks familiar, it’s because it was modeled after her big sister’s cake smash session!  A few years ago I photographed Lainey, her big sister, at this same location!  Lainey’s cake smash was one of my most re-pinned images on Pinterest and was a fan favorite!  Her first birthday smash cake was full of sprinkles and she really enjoyed her cake too!  You can view Lainey’s session here.
