Five Ways to Incorporate Pink in Your Nursery Decor

Newborns, Tips & Tutorials

As an in home newborn photographer, I travel all over Atlanta and the northern suburbs photographing sweet babies in their nurseries. My style of photography is natural and incorporates the nursery that families have designed for their little ones. Honestly one of the best parts of getting to photograph families in their homes is getting a peek at their gorgeous nursery design! I love interior design, and photographing babies in their own special place is a dream come true.

Through the years I’ve seen so many beautifully designed nurseries. Today I want to share some inspiration on how to incorporate pink in your baby girl’s nursery. Enjoy 5 ways to incorporate pink into your nursery design.

1. Pink Walls

This nursery showcased pink walls, with blue accents in the furnishings, wall art, and curtain trim. I love how pink was used as a background for the contrasting cool blue tones. (And by the way, how brilliant is the idea of having a daybed in the nursery!)

2. Pink Details

Don’t want to paint the walls pink? This nursery used the same color scheme of pink and soft blue, but flip-flopped! The walls were a cool blue with pink accents in the curtains, rug, wall art and daybed.

3. Unique Wall Decor

While this nursery was mostly serene and white, the family chose these unique pink bows for wall decor above the crib.

4. White with Pops of Pink

Those who know me well know my love of clean white tones in decor! These two nurseries had white bases that layered on touches of pink to create a soft and sweet space that is refreshing.

5. Pink on Pink on Pink!

This one is only for the brave (and for those who are really fantastic at interior design like Anna Louise Wolfe who designed this space). This nursery layered pink linens in bold patterns on top of pink walls, with pink details everywhere. Green was the contrast color of this Palm Beach inspired room.  This room was truly stunning from every angle.

As a side note, if you are being photographed in an all pink nursery…make sure you have an experienced photographer who is capable of balancing the color casts.  Pink will reflect on everything, especially the pale skin of babies, so the show the room and family and it’s best, you need someone who can handle colors.
