What to Wear for Family Photos: Dress to Match your Decor!

When it comes to choosing outfits for family photos, the range of outfits options can feel overwhelming.  But I want you to take a step back and think about the end goal for your family portraits.  My favorite way to enjoy family portraits is by displaying them in my home.  Although I’m no interior designer, I’ve had the honor of  photographing the work of several designers and like to think of myself as an amateur who likes to dabble in designing the interior of my own home.  Instead of just choosing outfits randomly, think about the end goal of your portraits becoming a part of your home design, in frames on the walls and surfaces of your home.  By choosing a color scheme in wardrobe that compliments your home decor, you are ensuring that your portraits can become artwork that seamlessly fit into your home.  The safest option is to wear neutral colors, because the final framed prints will fit in with any color scheme in your home.
