Well thanks to the crazy Georgia weather, this beautiful maternity session at Cator Woolford Gardens in Atlanta almost didn’t happen! In the span of a couple of weeks, we went from sunny and 70 to endless days of rain, a surprise snow day, and a morning with intense fog! Thankfully Jane and Andy were so wonderful and accommodating, and we were able to squeeze in this session just after the fog started to clear. The key to beautiful photos is light, so a large part of my job is advising clients about locations and times based on the light (which, of course, can be altered by weather changes!)
This session was special for me for a couple of reasons. First of all, Jane is the sister of one of my closest friends, Laura. I meet her years ago as bridesmaids in Laura’s wedding, and have enjoyed getting to know her through the years. Preparing for your first child is such a sweet and special time, these last few days together as a couple before you welcome your first baby are so monumental, and deserve to be documented and remembered. It was such an honor to capture this time for Jane and Andy. Another reason this session was special for me was the location! This was my first time shooting at Cator Woolford Gardens, and it did not disappoint!
