One of my favorite parts of in home newborn photos is getting to see beautifully decorated nurseries. When I shared some of these images on instagram, I got endless comments on these cute framed prints above the crib! Scheduling your newborn session in your home also means toddler siblings are in their safe and comfortable place, and that’s so valuable especially when they are transitioning into having a new sibling.

After photographing families for over 8 years, I’ve discovered toddlers are either very interested or very disinterested in their new baby siblings. However having a photo of your children together is very important to all moms. Do you want to know my special secret for encouraging a toddler to interact with a baby? SMARTIES! I don’t want to give away all my trade secrets, but let’s just say sometimes a trail of candy leads a toddler to a baby!

Worried your home doesn’t get enough natural light for a newborn session? My simple lighting process gives me the ability to evenly light every home for the clean, bright images I’m known for. Half of this session was shot with artificial lighting….can you tell which half?
