I’ve had the honor of photographing all of little Caroline’s milestone from birth through her classic pink and white first birthday party! That first year flies by so quickly, and documenting it is such a gift to parents as well as your baby when they become an adult and can look back on these special memories.
Caroline’s first birthday party was so sweet and steeped in traditions. The sweet floral and bird design on her cake mimicked the designs on her invitations. The toppers for the guest cake and smash cake were special Herend figurines from the local china and gift shop, Smith’s of Dublin. One of my favorite parts of the party was the special cake knife engraved with Caroline’s name. This traditional “birthday knife” is to be used to cut her cake every year, and oneway will be the knife that cuts her wedding cake. Be sure to look for the lovely framed display and rhyme detailing the tradition of the knife!
Caroline’s birthday banner was hung from the mantle and her highchair. The precious banners and her birthday hat all came from Little Happies. She thoroughly enjoyed her first cake and all the excitement must have tired her, because half way through she laid down on it like a pillow! I know you’ll be inspired by this traditional pink and white first birthday party!
