3rd Birthday Milestone | Cumming Georgia

In the Hensley household, we have a few birthday traditions. First is that when you wake, a birthday banner will be sprawling across the dining room windows. Another is that if we are just celebrating at home (and not serving guests), mom (that’s me) makes you a birthday cake according to your special requests. The birthday girl also gets to pick her favorite meal for family dinner. And lastly, we take your special birthday portraits!

Now as photographer’s children, you would think my children would hate this, but it’s become one of their favorite traditions! They get to help pick out a special outfit, and they go off with just me for portraits. Sometimes we travel to a nearby park or pretty location, and sometimes we even just shoot in our yard! Either way, they love having my full attention and enjoy that I talk and try to make them laugh. And of course it doesn’t hurt that I always have Smarties in my pocket during photos!

My sweet baby, the last in the Hensley bunch, turned 3 on March 10th. She is so fair and blonde, she’s honestly a challenge to photograph! She is incredibly shy with strangers, but with us she’s silly and funny. I had so much fun capturing her little personality.
